Justin Wood Gains National Attention

After a dominating State Tournament performance, last year Justin Wood showed nothing but Grit pinning every one of his opponents. Wood's longest match was in his finals match that drove a minute-twelve into the second period before Wood pinned earning him his first State Title. Making it his 3rd State finals appearance as a sophomore. To add this past spring Wrestling USA Magazine has Wood Ranked as the 17th best Wrestler in the Nation at the 152-pound weight class. With Wood's help Coach Salcido's Cavemen were the Runner-ups at last years 6A state championships. Coming in as a Junior Justin Wood is getting stronger by the year. With the hammer in his hands, the Carlsbad Cavemen will be looking to make a run for the Gold that slipped from their hands last year.
