As the wrestling season in New Mexico is gearing up wrestling hasn't stopped in Tulsa Oklahoma. Recently World of Wrestling held their annual national tournament at the Expo Square Pavilion. The second tournament in a three part Trilogy series that is considered to be one of the toughest tournaments in the nation. In the challenge three New Mexico wrestlers had the grit to bring home some gold.

In route to win the Trilogy series Stephanie Garza won her second back to back National title within a two month span. Garza had an impressive performance showing her resilience as she gave herself momentum to be the first female Trilogy series Champion from New Mexico. With a tight 2-1 lead in her finals match Garza wrenched out a pin showing ambition to win the trilogy.

New Mexico Beast wrestler True Woods also claimed gold. The 2020 defending state champion left no stone untouched in the 8U heavyweight division setting a strong pace for the season. The brother of stand out wrestler Real Woods, True is quickly adding his own collection to the family trophy case.

In hunt New Mexico Wolfpack had its first Tulsa National Champion. Quickly lining up his hardware as the 2020 defending state champion Andre Martinez claimed his title in the 10U heavyweight division. Martinez is punching in his time card at work as he continues to improve. Placing three years in a row Martinez made sure his performance in Tulsa was golden this time around.

Team New Mexico in all had 11 wrestlers place, showing a lot to look forward to as the season draws closer to the table.
