Santino Martinez Wins USA Folk Style Nationals      

Santino Martinez (AKA BEAST MODE) is living up to his nickname after the 2017-2018 wrestling season. With a busy schedule last season, Santino's overall record was a whopping 124-11, including National events he participated in.  An average year-round wrestler usually wrestles 50 to 85 matches a year. Out of the 134 matches Santino wrestled last year, his in-state record was 91-1, going undefeated during the regular season. The most notable of his recent achievements was at the USA Folk-Style Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Santino won. If you're not impressed by that alone, let's take a look at all the titles earned by Beast Mode in 2017-2018.

• 2017-2018 NMJW State Champion.

• 2017-2018 RMN National Champion.

• 2017-2018 RMN Triple Crown Champion.

• 2018 New Mexico State Freestyle Champion.

• 2018 New Mexico State Greco-Roman Champion.

• 2018 Southern Plains Freestyle Runner-Up.

• 2018 Southern Plains Greco-Roman Runner-Up.

• 2018 USA Wrestling Folk-Style NATIONAL CHAMPION.

• 2018 Cairns/Stormo Distinguished Wrestler Award.

Also, Santino is the quarterback for his football team and made the league's All-Star baseball team. All of this was accomplished in the same year. Santino trains out of NM Matador Beast and is arguably in one of the toughest weight divisions this season. Beast Mode is a workhorse in the practice room, and we look forward to watching his progression.
