This coming weekend, senior wrestler Laura Almanza of Deming gears up to capture her third state title.

The 2X defending state champion enters the tournament with a 36-1 record, with 29 of her wins coming by pin.

With an impressive season to end her HS career, Almanza has left no stone unturned.

In early February, she collected her 168th win as a Wildcat. Shattering the Deming Wildcat all-time career win record for both male and female, which was previously 163.

Looking to cap off her HS journey with a bang, you can bet the seasoned warrior will be ready for battle this weekend.
